Haizheng Pharma
R&D optimization and international expansion with market intelligence
The Challenge
Haizheng Pharmaceutical's R&D center was planning to develop a sleep aid gummy but lacked data-driven insight into which ingredients consumers actually preferred. Beyond product development, Haizheng's established liver health tablet brand faced stalling growth despite stable market share, and the marketing team needed to understand whether the brand's image was aging in consumers' minds.
At the same time, the company's International Division wanted to expand its supplement business into Southeast Asia but struggled to determine which country and product category offered the best entry point.
The MooJing Solution
For the sleep aid gummy, MooJing deployed E-commerce Listening to run sentiment analysis across hundreds of thousands of health supplement reviews, revealing that the GABA-plus-magnesium combination appeared significantly more often in reviews mentioning "deep sleep" and "waking up refreshed."
For brand health monitoring, MooJing established recurring tagged analysis of e-commerce reviews layered with Social Listening data. A real-time negative review dashboard flagged a sudden spike in batch odor complaints, alerting the client immediately.
For Southeast Asian expansion, MooJing's Oversea product pulled sales data from Shopee and Lazada across Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia, pinpointing the Thai herbal supplements category as a fast-growing segment with above-average order values.
The Results
The R&D team finalized a core formula of GABA with magnesium citrate, and after launch the share of positive reviews citing "scientific formulation" and "no drowsiness" was significantly higher than competing products.
The batch odor alert enabled supply chain and quality teams to trace the issue to isolated transportation problems and resolve it with affected customers before it escalated publicly.
For the international market, Haizheng chose Thailand as its first entry point and launched tropical fruit-flavored turmeric gummies. After launching on Shopee Thailand, the product quickly rose to the top of new product rankings in the Herbal Energy category.
